ABC Challenge: B is for Buttercup by Sally Hansen

So I tried and tried to come up with nail art that started with the letter B, and as you can see I failed. I am having a bit of Nail Art block right now. I can't seem to think of any designs that I wan to try. This makes me a sad girl. :(  I love, love , LOVE nail art, so to draw a blank 2 weeks in a row is really depressing.  Anyway, I decided to use one of my untrieds.

Buttercup by Sally Hansen (Complete Salon Manicure)

All photos of Buttercup are 4 coats no top coat.

Buttercup, while very pretty, is such a pain! This formula left something to be desired. It was thin and streaky. Even after 4 coats there were some bald spots, which are a bit difficult to see in the pictures but I assure yo are there. It also flooded the sides and my cuticles. So happy this was one of the polishes I picked up when the Complete Salon Manicure line went on clearance, so I only paid $1.89 for this one. Since this was so streaky I decided to add some sparkle and hide the imperfections.

A Little Kindness by Rainbow Honey (The Equestria Collection)

All photos of A Little Kindness are shown as 1 coat topped with 1 coat of Mega Shine.

I love A Little Kindness! It's so sparkly and it looks good over pretty much any color! I have been wanting to use this again and when Buttercup failed I knew that A Little Kindness would revive this mani! I know this isn't a "B" polish or even an untried but look at it! It's just so pretty! LOL

Hopefully next week I will be able to come up with some nail art for the letter C! If you have any requests let me know comment below or on my Facebook! I'm always up for suggestions!
Make sure to check out all the other lovelies participating in this challenge!

    1. Thanks hun! :) I always steer clear of yellow because I feel like it washes me out, then I wear it and remember it doesn't LOL I really need to start wearing more yellows! And ALK is amazing!!!

    1. I really like ALK over the yellow. I tried it over gold before and it was gorgeous but I was feeling kinda spring-y. Lol and yeah I have both stiletto and square nails! Lol I'm indecisive. Hehehe!

  3. Man, I used Buttercup as undies for glitter too and had the same problems. I wanted to beat that bottle to death! Great color, horrible formula.

I do love this mani though! And I actually really like yellow on you!

    1. I agree, it's an amazing color. I hope the new "reformulated" creme colors are better than this, otherwise they definitely aren't worth $8 a pop.

And thanks, I really need to start sporting more yellows I think.

    1. Thanks! I never realized how well it looks, probably because I rarely wear it. :)

  5. Very pretty, Gini. What on earth IS it with Sally Hansen and the pale yellows? Man, they make some gorgeous colors but their yellows are for absolute chit as far as application goes. Bummer, too. I love the color!

And that Rainbow Honey? One of my faves. it looks sooooo much like another RH: A Little Kindness, is I think the name.

Happy Friday, honey! Now, it's onto the "C"'s and the continued effort to Excel my collection.

    Hugs.

  6. Yeah they seem to have issues with the yellows. Mellow yellow is a bit streaky too.
This RH is actually A Little Kindness. :)

  7. I confess I liked it best without the glitter, your nails looks fabulous in such a shape and the yellow suits your skintone very very well!

  8. I have only used one of my SH from that line.......but I hear they all have a pretty rough formula. That IS a really pretty yellow though! Thanks for swatching "a little kindness"

  9. I think most yellows don't have the greatest formula in general. I have Chanel Mimosa and I think the formula is crap! lol. But, it does look good on you :)

  10. Lovely combination! It's really a shame that yellow polish is usually such a pain in the butt formula wise :/

  11. Thanks gals! I do believe you all are right, all yellows seem to be a pain. Oh well,I'm sure it wont stop me from buying more though! LOL

  12. I missed out on this week - never thought to go back and look at what everyone did. It's such a pretty buttery yellow, and love the bling. With spring starting to really happen, this would be perfect now.
