M•A•S•H Nails "Fruit Punch" Scented Polish & Nail Art Pens Review

Yet another late post! I had a bust day today so I am just now getting a chance to post this for you all. I was contacted a week or so ago by M•A•S•H Nails to see if I would be interested in reviewing something, of course I said yes! When I received my package I was surprised at all the cool goodies that were in it! I will be honest, when I think of M•A•S•H I think of stamp plates. I actually own quite a few of their plates, but I kinda suck at stamping, so when they sent me scented polish, matte top coat, fimo slices, and nail art pens I was relieved and even more excited to review for them!

All of the goodies I will have reviewed for you in future posts.

Fruit Punch...
...a neon blue scented polish.

All photos of Fruit Punch are shown as 3 coats no top coat.

Like a true neon, this is a bit on the streaky side but I expected this much. Looking at the pictures I probably should have gone with a 4th coat just to even it all out, the formula is thin enough that you can do 3-4 coats and it wont be too thick. There wasn't any thickening during use and dry time was pretty good as well, average I'd say. The color is pretty accurate to how it appear in real life. After it dried I sniffed it a little to see if it smelled like fruit punch. LOL! While I don't think it was fruit punchy, it was a light pleasant smell, much nicer than any other scented polishes I've tried. It wasn't crazy stinky or overpowering while polishing or after it dried. Fruit Punch is one from a set of 6 mini polishes, I am actually looking forward to trying the others out to see how they smell as well!

Next I decided to use the matte top coat and to try out the black and silver nail art pens. I did keep it pretty simple since it was my first time using nail art pens of any kind so I wasn't sure what to expect.

The Matte Top Coat works as well as any top coat I've tried, making this neon blue as flat as I could possibly want it to be! It dried about as fast as my typical matte top coat as well! I will do a comparison post soon on the top coats in my collection so I can show you all the differences if any at all.

The Nail Art Pens are a pretty cool concept, I think using them for more detailed nail art would work out well. It does take a minute to get the polish to the tip of the pen so don't be discouraged just shake and push down on the tip, it will come out. The tip needed a push after a little bit of use but it gets quite a bit of use before that is required. I will note that I did not use the matte top coat on top of the dots, it was applied before the dots. The pens seem to dry a bit matte and the big thing is they will come off if you do not top coat them (at least the little dots did I don't know how larger designs would hold up), I woke up in the morning to most of the dots gone. So make sure to top coat them! Over all I really liked the no muss no fuss of the pens vs dotting tools and a pool of polish. I am looking forward to trying other designs!

  2. That "simple" design of yours is lovely on those gorgeous canvases.

The nail art pens intrigue me, and I'm likely to give them a shot. Still can't wrap my head around scented polish, though. Don't know why.

    Great review, Gini!
