Kelara Lacquers "Teacher's Little Helper 2.0" & "Pluto"

Press Sample

Hi all! Sorry for the late post today! The day just kind of got away from me, one minute I was doing a little bit of house work and the next thing I know my husband is home from work and I needed to make dinner. Needles to say things just got pushed back. Tonight I am showing you a couple of polishes from Kelara Lacquers. If you have been following me for a while you may have seen the review and swatches from the end of last year already but if you need a refresher or you're new to my blog just click on the link above!

Pluto...
...a gold/bronze shimmer.
All photos of Pluto are shown as 2 coats topped with Mega Shine.

This has a great formula, not too thick not too thin, no thinner was required.  I think the formula has greatly improved, since I recall that I had to use thinner with each of those I previously reviewed. Application was a breeze, no flooding, pooling or dragging. 2 coats were perfect for full coverage. This polish's shimmer has a darker shade of bronze to it making it unique IMO. The only thing that I found to be a little odd was, for a solid color without glitter, it seemed to devour my topcoat. This made it not so much textured but not as smooth and shinny as my Mega Shine normally leaves my mani. I think a second coat would probably help make it glass smooth and super shinny. Pluto is part of Kelara's Planetary Collection and is only available in a mini size bottle.

Teacher's Little Helper 2.0...
...apple red, black, and silver glitter in a clear base.
All photos of Teacher's Little Helper 2.0 are shown as 1 coat over Pluto topped with 1 coat of NPB Glitter Food and 1 coat Mega Shine.

This is part of the Colors for a Cause collection and represents education. For each full sized bottle of Teacher's Little Helper 2.0 purchased  Kellen and Tara, the owners of Kelara, will donate $2 toward a learning project on DonorsChoose.org. This glitter bomb is formulated nicely as well. There is so much glitter in this so it does dry textured, as I expected, so a coat or 2 of glitter food is recommended. There is no fishing, dragging or clumping of the glitters, just a nice and smooth application.

Kelara Lacquers can be purchased on their website kelaralacquers.com or on their Etsy shop.
Full size bottles range from $9 to 12 depending on finish and minis are $4.75.

  1. It looks like there is orange and purple in that glitter too - is that just colors flashing from the silver glitter? Pluto looks like caramel, and the glitter has apple red...now I'm hungry!
    The two together look fabulous!
