Sassy Saturday's Guest Post: Lucky Lucky Lacquer

Hello loves! A few weeks back I mentioned starting up a monthly/bi-weekly guest post series. I was surprised to have such a great response to the idea and have gotten several awesome ladies involved so far!  If you are interested in doing a guest post for me just drop me a line at sassypaints2012@gmail.com and we can get a date picked out!

I hope you enjoy today's post, the very first guest post of the Sassy Saturday's series, brought to us from the land down under! ♥

Hello everyone! I'm Laura from the Australian nail blog Lucky Lucky Lacquer. I'm super thrilled to be starting the Sassy Saturday Guest Posts series here at Sassy Paints. When I came across Gini's blog a few months ago, I was hooked on her use of bright colours and the way she could make pretty indie polishes look edgy.

For the manicure today, I decided to use my all-time favourite polishes and aim for some edgy nail art to follow Gini's steps for amazing nails. I had six polishes that luckily worked well together and decided a skittle manicure would be the best way to show them without making my nails look too messy.

I started by painting my thumb, middle and ring finger with Nails Inc in I ♥ Ita, an 'in-your-face' bright coral, followed by very light, almost dry brushstrokes of Essence in Absolutely Blue, B Collection by Bloom in Dubai, OPI Gold Crackle (yes, I'm still trying to put this polish to use) in that order and topped it all off with OPI in I Juggle... Men. I then used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Golden-I on my index finger and pinky.

When I looked at the finished product, I had the impression that it looked more 'pretty' than the 'out-there, fashionable' look I was going for. I was ecstatic when the mailman turned up the same day with my Born Pretty Store order, which contained some black elliptic rhinestones. Without hesitation, I added them to my mani and tried to toughen it up. I am quite happy with the result, regardless of whatever adjective I may use for it.

I hope you guys enjoyed my pictures and small rambling. Thanks so much to Gini for letting me participate in your blog and look forward to seeing other Sassy guests!

Till next time ,
Laura
