Barielle Bling It On Spring Collection 2015 Swatches & Review

Hi guys! How was everyone's long weekend? I was sick...well still sick actually. I have a cold that I just can't shake and it has me worn down. I figured I better put some of my lounging around time to good use and get this blog post up. The Bling It On collection is described by Barielle as "dazzling combinations of glitter...perfect worn alone or they can add an exciting dimension to a manicure when worn as a top coat, french tip or reverse french!" I chose to wear them over opaque colors so I could let the shimmers and glitters really pop. They all have great formulas that are so easy to work with: glitters come out in an abundance and lay nice and flush against the nail. They also finish nice and smooth after applying your favorite fast drying top coat, not even a slight hint of texture.

Angel Dust: Described as "a sheer iridescent glitter".
Shown as 2 coats over Barielle Champagne Bubbles, topped with Seche Vite.

I love iridescent glitters, they add so much color and beauty to any color. I thought pairing it with Champagne Bubbles would be perfect and the combo didn't disappoint. Next time I am going to use white...or black...or red! Seriously, the possibilities are endless with this versatile topper!

Shooting Star: Described as "a metallic blue/purple glitter".
Shown here as 2 coats over Barielle Heaven Sent, topped with Seche Vite.

I don't think that Barielle's description of this does a good job of letting you know what to expect from this beauty. Personally I wouldn't wear this solo since it is quite sheer. I would describe it as a metallic blue hex glitters in a sheer base packed with light blue glass flecks and a purple shimmer. I think had I layered this over a slightly darker base the shimmer and glass fleck color would have shown stronger than it does here. Either way, it's a beauty!

Amethyst: Described as "a purple glitter".
Shown as 1 coat over Barielle Pink Parasol, topped with Seche Vite.

This isn't the most unique from the collection, obviously, so it really doesn't do any thing for me. I was really worried that the glitters curled from the looks of them in the bottle. Sometimes Metallic glitters can reflect so much that the look curled. I can safely say that they are completely flat and lay flat on the nail as well, so no taco glitters at all. If you enjoy these kinds of glitter toppers then it is a great one for sure.

Sea Urchin: Described as "a sea foam green glitter".
Shown here as 2 coats over Barielle Under the Sea, topped with Seche Vite.

Again I think the description leaves out key details. I would describe it as a shimmery sea foam green base with teal, green and gold hex metallic glitters. I thought this would be more like Shooting Star so I layered it but I think I should have just worn it alone. Two to three coats would be plenty for full opacity.

Golden Halo: Described as "a gold with pink glitter".
Shown here as 2 coats over Zoya Daisy, topped with Seche Vite.

This is by far my favorite of the collection! I know this could do well on it's own in 3 coats but I am happy I decided to layer it over the yellow base. The description is pretty accurate but I would add that the gold is from the clear base being jam packed full of gold glass flecks and it makes this baby crazy shimmery! The Pink glitters compliment the gold base wonderfully and I'm certain it would give this a rose gold look if it was worn all on it's own.

Overall I really enjoyed this collection. For the most part it's really unique, especially for spring colors. What are your thoughts? Are there any that you like, love or hate?
