Superchic Lacquer: Ugly Sweater Party Trio Swatches & Review

Hi guys! I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and you are well into enjoying your weekend. Today I have 2...yes TWO...posts to share with you. Superchic has two beautiful holiday/winter collections that are releasing Wednesday. One thing that I want to note before I show you the swatches; Back in September Jen announced that her bottles had been discontinued so we would be seeing a new style. Well these new collections she has releasing will be debuting the new style, a kind of bubble round bottle with a white pointed cap. The new shape/style are very cute and some of you may be really happy with this change because I know you have expressed a dislike of the old star bottles. I want to warn you though to make sure to have a good grip on these when picking them up by the cap since they can tend to slip right out of your fingers if you don't. Other than that I'm loving the new look!

All Flocked Up: a sheer milky white base packed with matte white, silver and sliver holographic glitters in various shapes and sizes and shimmery silver micro flakies.
Shown here as 2 coats topped with 1 coat of  Glitter Food by Nail Pattern Boldness and 1 coat Superchic's Marvel Top Coat

I recommend, setting this upside down for about 5-10 minutes before using, this will ensure all of the larger glitters come to the top so you don't need to fish for them. This does finish pretty textured so I would definitely use a glitter smoothing top coat like I have done here. The glitters are so dense that you get a good opaque finish even though the base is really sheer. There is so much sparkle, it's a great polish for the up coming holiday season!

Bright Shiny Sweater Balls: matte white, gray, red, pale yellow and orange glitters. Metallic silver and holographic silver glitters. All are in square and hex shapes and a variety of sizes in a clear base.
Shown as 1 coat over Coloured Rain Lucky Charm topped with Marvel Top Coat.

Again, I'd place this upside down for a little while before using to ensure the large glitters come out easily. You get A LOT of glitters on one dip of the brush! You may need to do a little bit of dabbing to get the larger glitters to be evenly distributed on the nail but it's not too  much of a hassle. The glitters lay pretty flush against nail, so there's no need for a smoothing top coat to get that lovely even finish with this fun glitter topper.

"Mr. Hankey" Every Party Needs A Pooper: a sheer brown jelly base packed with matte back, white and red hexes, matte white and red squares, dark green matte hexes, large light green dots and metallic copper micro glitters.
Shown as 3 coats topped with Marvel Top Coat.

Jen said is supposed to be a stand alone polish, however it is still very sheer after 3 coats, so if you do not like a visible nail line I would recommend layering it. I personally don't mind some VNL, most true jelly polishes leave you with VNL. Like the previous 2, I would place this upside down for a few minutes prior to application to ensure those large glitters come to the top for easy access. The jelly base is just squishy enough to nestle those glitters so there isn't an overly textured finish, therefore not requiring anything more than your regular top coat.

What are your thoughts on this beautiful collection? My favorite definitely has to be Mr. Hankey, for the name and for the beautiful complexity of the polish. All of these are beautiful in their own way though, and they would make a great addition to any polish hoarder's collection!

The Ugly Sweater Trio will be available for purchase on Wednesday December 2nd at 4PM PST, online at superchiclacquer.com and on etsy.com/shop/WonderBeautyProducts.
