Spread Indie Love Box (Winter 2015 Edition)

Press Sample

Hello loves! Today I have an extra special post for you. I am privileged to say that I was selected to review the Winter Spread Indie Love Box. This is the second Spread Indie Love Box and there are different Indie collaborators than the last one. The idea behind this box is to show the indie community some much deserved love.  It's also a fun way to allow you, the customer, to become more acquainted with brands and products you may not have heard of or tried yet. If you have tried any of (or all of) these brands, this is a fantastic way to get your hands on products that will be exclusive to these boxes only!

This season's box features 5 full size polishes, 1 bath bomb and 1 full size soap. There are also a few samples included as well! I'll tell you right off the bat, as soon as I opened my mail box the lovely scent that came out made me so excited to open this baby up!

All items were packed very nicely and were secure in the box to prevent too much movement.

All unwrapped!

Lou it Yourself
Bath Plunk:Winter Frost
The scent that I was smelling when I opened the mail box was this baby! It's such a clean refreshing scent and non irritating. If you have followed me for a wile you may know already that I have a scent aversion, but this bright scent doesn't hurt my head at all. This bomb is packed in it's own cute personal box, keeping it nice and secure to prevent it from being jostled around too much. Keep in mind that these are fragile and can arrive broken no matter how they are packed, however they work just the same broken or whole.
*Allergy warning-item does contain sweet almond oil.

Handmade Natural Beauty
Goat Milk Soap: Chestnut & Brown Sugar...
..."For those who have sensitive skin or eczema, goats milk soap can be ideal. From Nature With Love says “Goat’s milk is a natural emollient that helps soothe and moisturize the skin. It contains vitamins A, B6, B12 and E. Goat’s milk has 3 times more beta-casein than cow’s milk. Casiens are easily absorbed into the skin and allow for quick hydration of dry skin."

This soap looks so yummy! Yes I know it's soap but the swirls and colors make this look rather delicious! It also has a soft, subtle sweet scent yet still smells clean. Even my husband was excited when he took a whiff of this. So don't for a second think that these beautiful hand made soaps are strictly for us ladies. This would make a lovely gift to someone special or just for yourself!

*Polishes*

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer
A Bit of Bubbly: a blushing nude crelly with a subtle gold and pink shimmery micro flakies.
Shown as 3 coats topped with Superchic Lacquer Marvel Top Coat.

Blue-Eyed Girl is a new to me brand, one that I've heard of and lusted after but have not yet tried. The formula is excellent! No flooding, pooling or dragging and it's self leveling. The shimmery flakies in this is are little more on the subtle side but you can really notice them in my macro. They also really show up in certain light and different angles. It is a little sheer with the first coat but builds nicely and comes to full opacity in just 3 thin coats, 2 if you use thicker coats.

Polish 'M
Feelin’ Frosty: a light grey crelly with a pink/purple shimmer, rainbow mix of holographic micro glitters and blue-green flakies.
Shown as 2 coats topped with  Marvel Top Coat.

Polish 'M has been featured on my blog many times before so you may already be familiar with this fabulous indie brand. Like I have come to expect from Polish 'M, the formula is superb. Self-leveling, opaque and thick enough that you get excellent control during application. The amount of sparkle in this polish is amazing. I feel like I didn't do it justice in my photos, you really need to see this in person to appreciate it fully.

Ever After Polish
First Frost: a pearly pink/lavender shifting holo with a touch of holographic glitter.
Shown here as 3 coats topped with Marvel Top Coat.

Here's another new to me brand that I've had a my eye on for a while. This lovely pale shade is a tricky one to capture. Is it pink? Is it purple? Well it's a little of both and it's beautiful! The holo is as subtle as the color as well as the holographic glitters making this match it's name perfectly. It has a lovely formula so application is great. Just a bit sheer on the first coat but becomes perfectly opaque in 3 thin coats, finishing smooth and even.

Dollish Polish
Winter Solstice: a blue leaning green jelly base with blue and copper glitters and a silvery micro shimmer.
Shown here as 2 coats topped with Marvel Top Coat.

I have a special place in my indie loving heart for Dollish Polish. With the greatest named collections/polishes for the ultimate fan girl I have a fair few DP's on my stash. The formula is wonderful, as I expected, it applies smooth and even. The glitters come out easily with no fishing required, they spread evenly across the nail and settle nicely into the squishy jelly base. This finishes so smooth that there is no need for a glitter smoothing top coat, just your regular fast dry will do! I want to note that this is more of a dark blue leaning teal than a navy shade, I just couldn't capture the true color in photos. For some reason the camera just sort of washed out that lovely hint of green.

Cupcake Polish
Only Got Ice For You: a mint/aqua linear holographic base with silver flakies.
Shown as 2 coats topped with Marvel Top Coat.

Cupcake is a newer brand to me, I do own a couple lacquers from this but only just recently acquired them. As far as I can tell, they all seem to be pretty consistent. Silky smooth formulas, not thin but not too thick. This makes for easy application because you have a lot of control, requiring less clean up. From a 1-10 the holo is right about at a 6, not crazy intense but not too subtle. This level of holo works well when you have more going on in a polish like this one, it doesn't overwhelm the nail, allowing the flakies to still be seen. they blend together so well.

*Samples*

The samples provided for this box include the following:

Sassy Pants Polish
Mani Bomb: Fresh Snow
An extremely fresh smelling scent, almost like fresh laundry! This is a very densely packed mani bomb, it feels almost clay like, which makes me think that it's packed full of moisturizing goodness.

Love Notes Cuticle Oil: Black Raspberry Vanilla
A cute little bottle with a doe foot applicator. It has a subtlety sweet scent that will not overpower your scenes. For those who have nut allergies, this does NOT contain almond oil like many cuticle oils do.

Alter Ego
Mani Bubbly Soap: Bubbly
A beautiful glittery bar of soap that has a tart and slightly woodsy scent to it. It really is a very pretty, tiny bar of soap!

The price for this box will be $48 plus priority shipping. If my calculations are correct, I estimate this box's value is at about $65. This gives you a savings of $17! That's not even counting how much you'd spend in individual shipping charges from each of these brands!

This remarkable box launches online at loveangeline.com for PREORDER today (12/04/15) at 9am MST and the preorder will end on Monday (12/07/15) at 11:59pm MST. Boxes are expected to ship to customers around 12/21.

Whew!! That was a doozie of a post, wasn't it? I really hope I covered everything! Well, what do you think? Will you be grabbing one of these boxes? Let me know what your favorite things in this box are!
