Blood Splatter Nails

I know I didn't post my flower mani for day 14, I really had every intention of doing it but I just lacked the motivation to do it. I've  had a few things in my head that I wanted to do and post for this weekend as well but I spent most of Saturday night painting nails just not mine.
I went to my mom's house and we were going to have a manicures and wine night. There were 6 of us and I was under the impression that we were going to do  mani's on each other. WRONG! Lol It turned into me doing it all and I only got 1 glass of wine! O_o
So Oooops! I failed please forgive me. I will have a new challenge post up tomorrow, I promise!
I do have some mani pix for you tonight, though! Tonight was the season premiere of Dexter so I had to do blood splatter nails. I was inspired by a mani Victoria at Manicurator did on her black and white day of her 31 day challenge.

For this look I used SH White On as the base color then SC Ruby Ruby in the spray bottle with a little bit of Orly thinner!

I was so happy to finally see my favorite serial killer again! I am so in love with Michael C Hall as Dexter! He's so friggin HOT! I know there is something wrong with me! LOL
In other news! I will be starting a new challenge that will run the full month of October!

This is a work at your own pace challenge with 10 different Halloween themed days. If you are interested in joining contact datyorkLOVES (Our awesome challenge host!) email her your blog name & link or FB page link, by Oct 10th! (E-mail: datyorkloves@gmail.com)

Also keep your eye on the blog, I will be posting some reviews in the next week or so featuring a couple of new Indies!

Grey's Anatomy

Just a quick late night post here! I had planned on getting this up much earlier but I got wrapped up in some house work and then the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy came on! I just wanted to do show you gals my Grey's Anatomy mani!

I applied 3 coats of Wet n Wild  Gray's Anatomy

I have seen this color in the store about a million times and never bothered getting it because it didn't really wow me. But while I was at CVS the other day the girl at check out said that there was a bin that had a bunch of polishes for $.20! Yes twenty cents! So I grabbed every color they had in that bin, and Gray's Anatomy was one of them!

I actually like this so much more than I originally thought! This just goes to show that you can't judge a bottle by its color! Swatches are so important! It looks way better on my hand than in the bottle.

I really like the how the color shifts from gray to lavender to green!

Then I drew some hearts with Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar on my middle finger and stamped the rest of the nails with Finger Paints Black Expressionism using my Mash plate M-38.

Did anyone else watch the Grey's Anatomy premier tonight? If so, did you cry like a GIANT baby? No? Well...um neither did I. LOL! Yes I'm a crier!

My First Giveaway!! ***CLOSED***

This Giveaway Is Now Closed!

I have some goodies for you guys today! All these items are things that I personally
use & love and I wanted to share them with you!

Up first!

Now I have told you all that I was planning on having Nail Pattern Boldness Flipping Out Hard as one of the Prizes for my first giveaway, but what I didn't tell you was a few weeks ago Allison, the creative mind behind the NPB label has generously donated 2 more of her beauties to my giveaway! She has given us a bottle of her new Halloween polish Bitches Brew and one of the regulars in her collection,  Ninja vs. Pirate. I absolutely L-O-V-E Allison's polishes! They are all amazing in color, quality and price! Click on the names for the swatches of each of these beauties!

Next!

I have China Glaze Crackle polishes. I get that a lot of people are not crazy about Crackle...honestly I'm not a huge fan of crackle, but oddly I really like these! I've not had the chance to swatch my own yet but I know there are some really nice swatches out in out little blogging world and these are beautiful! I have for you from left to right:
Cracked Medallion, Latticed Lilac, Haute Metal, Jade-D, Oxidized Aqua.
Now I know that these aren't near as spectacular as the NPB polishes but I really wanted to give you guys some extra goodies!

Now for the little extras.

I absolutely love these polish remover sheets! Since I've started using the Elmer's glue base coat I use a lot less acetone and more of these babies! They have cuticle oil in them and leave your nails and fingers nice and smooth. I love how gentile they are compared to acetone! These I got from Amazon but I also use the e.l.f remover sheets too and I love them just as much!

These brushes while used for different things are both staples in my collection. My BFF recently gave me one of these double sided brushes for my birthday. The other brush I use to clean my mani's up, make them prim and proper! =)

Last but certainly not least, glass nail files! I only use glass files and I happen to come across these at Big Lots! they were such an amazing deal that I bought every single on they had! I have to say that I love these files even more than the ones I paid 3 times the amount for!

So that's the entire lot! I decided that instead of me dividing the prizes up I would leave that up to the 1st place winner!
The first place winner will pick 2 of the Nail Pattern Boldness Polishes, 2 of the China Glaze Polishes her choice of brush and scent of remover sheets and one of the nail file packs!
The second place winner will get the remaining Nail Pattern Boldness Polish, the remaining 3 China Glaze Polishes, the remaining brush and polish remover sheet pack and a nail file pack!

This guarantees that each winner will get 4 polishes, 1 pack of remover pads, 1 brush and 1 pack of glass files!
I hope that wasn't too confusing!

Unfortunately this giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents only at this time! Sorry to any international followers but I will try to have an international giveaway soon! I am not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged packages.
This giveaway will run for 3 weeks starting September, 27. 2012 ending October, 19. 2012 at 12:01am. The winners will be notified within 48 hours of close. If the winner(s) do not respond within 24 hours a new winner(s) will be randomly drawn. I will only be accepting entries through Rafflecopter. Also, and this should go without saying, NO CHEATING! I will be checking all of your entries and you will be disqualified if you are caught cheating! Lets not ruin the fun! =) All terms and Conditions are listed below.

Oh, and Don't forget to tell Allison from Nail Pattern Boldness a big Thank You for her contribution!

Good Luck Everyone!

31 Day Challenge - Day 13 "Animal Print"

Hello ladies! Sorry I am late once again for the late posting! I had my mani done much earlier but I didn't get around to writing out the post since I went to St Louis to go visit my mommy, sister and the kiddies for the evening. I didn't realise my normally 1 hour drive was going to turn into a 2 hour fiasco! It was raining so friggin hard I got stuck on the highway for a while. Not to mention the 3 stores I went to just to try and find the damn Fantasy Makers. No, I STILL didn't find them, BUT Kimber is my saviour and has volunteered to get pick them up for me so I can stop ranting about it! LOL Thank You Kimber! You may have saved what is actually left of my sanity!

Any who...for this day in the challenge I was wanting to do something more than just the typical leopard, tiger, zebra, giraffe print. Not that there is anything wrong with those, I  just wanted something different. The hubster and I were recently at the St Louis Zoo and I am always so in awe of the colorful reptiles and such so I was browsing pictures of colorful frogs and snakes and I came across this picture of a Harlequin Toad, and instantly I needed to use this for my animal print!

For this look I used Spoiled by Wet n Wild Uh, As If and Visually Slimming...on my shorter nails I might add! (Stupid break! LOL)

I wasn't sure how I wanted to recreate the look so I tried to use the Saran Wrap method first...that was a FAIL so I just drew the pink on with a toothpick!

Now for the sake of time I just kept the Saran Wrap nails as "accents" LOL

So that's my "Animal Print" mani! Friday is flowers!
Now I am going to check out what the other Sassy Painters have done with their day 13 mani's! You should go check them all out too!

Also it seems that I am super close to the 100 likes mark on my Facebook page so I will be getting the pictures of the prizes ready and hopefully have it up by the end of the week, Monday at the latest! I am so excited to be having my first giveaway!!!! YAY!

31 Day Challenge Day 12 "Stripes"

Happy Autumn everyone! I've been feeling like fall hit a while ago, since I received that message on my Starbucks App saying the Pumpkin Spice Latte and Salted Caramel Mocha were back, but today is the official first day of fall! I will tell you now I am not the follower of certain trends, one of those is that since it's fall I can't wear my neons or bright colors any more! I will try to sport more of the dark colors, since it really is hard to pull those off during summer months, but I refuse to be told I can't "shine" just because it's cold outside! ;)
So in honor of my rebellion and also to sort of say good bye to my favorite season I settled on a bright striped mani today!

*Note: If you are interested in a tutorial on how I created this mani please click here.*

For this mani I applied 2 coats of Sinful Colors Innocent. Then with my Kiss Nail Art Polishes I striped each of the following colors, in no particular order, leaving a bit of the base color showing.
Beach Yellow, Orange, Beach Pink, Soft Purple, Soft Blue, Silver Glitter, White and Black

I know that's a lot of pix but I really liked how they turned out! LOL After all the bitching and complaining about the ugly pictures the other day I think I've come to the realization that it just takes patience and practice to get the right shot, it's not my camera it was a user error! LMAO

As always make sure to check out the other talented ladies participating in this challenge!
Next up is animal print! Yay!

*Also, I am only 20 likes away from hitting 100 on my Facebook Fan Page! The sooner I hit 100 the sooner I start the giveaway!*

Femme Fatale Lacquer Review

(*This picture is not my own, It is credited to Femme Fatale Lacquer)

Hello lovelies! Today I have a review on Femme Fatale Lacquer's Princess Jas!

The package came to me safely wrapped with plenty of bubble wrap and had this nice mesh bag with a cute tag on it! I thought it was a very nice touch!

Included was a business card, I have to say right here I am a HUGE fan of sugar skulls so am in love with the logo which the card is based from.

Princess Jas is described by Cynthia, the owner and creator of FFL, as a mint milky base with fine teal and gold hex glitter. Each of Femme Fatale Lacquer's polishes are made with a clear suspension base lacquer that is "3 FREE". This means they do not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate.

That's the best I could do for a closeup...I'm not properly equipped to do a real macro shot just yet, sorry. I hope I was able to capture the beauty of it for you.

I layered 3 coats of Princess Jas over Sinful Colors Snow Me White, topped off with 1 coat of SV.

Application was a breeze! I went on like butter on hot toast! There was no clumping, streaking, or fishing for glitter!

I really love the look of this over white and I'm sure it would look gorgeous over many other colors too. Another plus side to this polish is that it's not a "thirsty" glitter, so it was perfectly smooth with just my basic topcoat!

I liked this when I first saw it on Femme Fatale Lacquers Instagram but now that I have used it I adore it! I look forward to trying out the other polishes she has created, they are beautiful and very unique!

Make sure to checkout Femme Fatale Lacquer on these following sites!

Very VERY Late Day 11 "Polka Dot" Mani

Yes I know, I'm a day late ( several dollars short too!) I'm still having some issues with my pictures coming out all funky colored. My phone and my camera are being a pain in the ass! The pix I get from the camera are green...idk why. The camera pix are good but I took like a bazillion of them and my hand was only steady for about 3! FML I think I need to get the camera serviced. Oh well.
So here it is...finally!

I started with 2 coats of Elle Go Go Coco

Then 2 coats Orly Buried Alive to one side of the thumb, index and ring fingers.

I added the dots on Go Go Coco with Buried Alive Elle Bright Young Thing
and on Buried Alive with Go Go  Coco.

Ok, now I need to go so some camera hunting....I know I have another 1 or 2 laying around here somewhere!

Make sure to check out the other ladies who are participating in this challenge! I'm sure they were on time with their homework! LOL

Don't forget that if you aren't already a follower or if you haven't liked my Facebook Page go a head and do it! =) Once I reach 100 on either one I will be hosting my first giveaway! And I have some really cool prizes for you all!

Gothic Fairy Wings

I'm sorry for such a late post, I'm getting ready to head off to bed, but I just wanted to show you guys a few pictures of my first attempt at these Gothic Fairy Wings. I saw these once before on pinterest or something, if anyone knows where let me know so I can credit!

Nicole by OPI Gilda's Dream, Elixer Lacquers Miss Kitty's Mee-Yow

I started with 2 coats of Gilda's Dream then painted my tips with 3 coats of Miss Kitty...

I painted 2 lines and the arches on the tips and filled out the rest of the tip with the black...

I added glitter then painted the jagged parts of the wings and added the dots.

The black is acrylic paint as well as the dots.

I painted these to enter them into Polish TBH's Instagram fantasy contest.
