Nail Pattern Boldness: Gruß vom Krampus Swatches

Hi girls and boys! I know another really late post, I was feeling a little under the weather today so I got little done. When I finally got around to editing my pix for this review I realized that the stilettos, while they looked  HOT covered in this particular polish, it was just impossible to show you how truly beautiful it is. So I had to re-swatch! Ugh!

This was a very Limited Edition that Allison released right before the holidays. Here is a little history lesson on what The Krampus is!

A greating card featuring Krampus  (Pic credit to Wikipedia)
"Krampus is a beast-like creature from the folklore of Alpine countries thought to punish children during the Yule season who had misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts. Krampus is said to capture particularly naughty children in his sack and carry them away to his lair.
Krampus is represented as a beast-like creature, generally demonic in appearance. The creature has roots in Germanic folklore, however its influence has spread far beyond German borders. Traditionally young men dress up as the Krampus in Austria, southern BavariaSouth Tyrol, northern FriuliHungarySlovenia, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republicand Croatia during the first week of December, particularly on the evening of 5 December (the eve of Saint Nicholas day on many church calendars), and roam the streets frightening children with rusty chains and bells. Krampus is featured on holiday greeting cards called Krampuskarten. There are many names for Krampus, as well as many regional variations in portrayal and celebration." -Wikipedia

Gruß vom Krampus: a dark charcoal polish with rainbow shimmer and micro glitter.

This shows 2 coats of Gruß vom Krampus topped with 1 coat of Sally Hansen Mega Shine.

It was quite difficult to capture the rainbow sparkles in this beauty, but it was very apparent on the nail IRL. I can stop looking at my fingers!

Just for fun I decided to add a little gold! This was a gift from Allison that was sent to me a while back and I have been waiting to use it for just the right time! I thought this was that time!

Now the matte version!

I really love the look of the gold on top of this with all the little rainbow sparkles! It looks like the bottle of Gruß vom Krampus with the gold label! Krampus applied like butter! It was so smooth and easy to work with. No clumping, dragging pooling or flooding! An absolute dream! 1 coat covered well, almost completely opaque but 2 coats were perfect! Allison did such an amazing job with this, as always!

This was a LE and is no longer available, but Allison has plenty of other beauties available, you can find all of my  NPB reviews and swatches by searching clicking the Nail Pattern Boldness label at the bottom of this page! You can purchase Nail Pattern Boldness on Etsy here, and you can also find NPB on Llarowe here
If you follow NPB on Facebook here you can get updates on all of Allison's new beauties!

Did you manage to grab a bottle of the Krampus before it went bye-bye?

  1. This is a gorgeous color. I grew up in Germany, so the story of Krampus still makes me shudder a little. I think more afraid of him than of slenderman. Haha.
