Rain City Nail Lacquer "Sleepless Collection"

Today I have the Sleepless Collection from a brand new Indie, Rain City Nail Lacquer. This brand and collection, if you haven’t guessed yet, are both named for the rainy city of Seattle, Washington, where these were also created !

Caramel Laq-uccino…
…”caramel and dark coffee colored glitters in a shimmery nude base”
All photos of Caramel Laq-uccino are shown as 2 coats over Spoiled Show Me Some Skin topped with SH Mega Shine.

Formula was nice and smooth, no thickening or clumping. The glitters come out really well and can drag a bit, so make sure you wait between coats. The larger glitters look as if they are curling, but rest assured they are not, it is just reflective. This is a little sheer but with all the shimmer I think it could be worn alone if you chose to, 3 coats should do it.

Mint Rainier…
…”aqua and periwinkle glitters in a shimmery mint green base”
All photos of Mint Rainier are shown as 2 coats over Essie Butler Please topped with SH Mega Shine.

The description says the base is mint green, however it looks more blue to me. The formula was much like Caramel Laq-uccino. Application was smooth and easy, no flooding, pooling or thickening. Again it is a bit sheer but I think it could be worn alone with about 3 coats.

Market Bouquet…
…”a mix of neon glitters and fine holo glitters in a sheer pink shimmering base”
All photos of Market Bouquet are shown as 1 coat over butterLondon Jasper topped with SH Mega Shine.

This has a lot more going on than I had originally thought at first glance. It was really super sparkly, something that can’t be seen in a bottle shot. This could be worn as a stand alone glitter if you really wanted to, though I recommend layering it over your favorite color. Application was great, smooth like butter. The larger glitters even come out easily but they do need to be placed just a bit or they will drag and pile up on each other, but that is to be expected from larger glitters.

Pretty Purple Rain Boots…
…”a deep purple shimmering lacquer loaded with fine purple glitter and purple holographic glitters”
All photos of Pretty Purple Rain Boots are shown as 2 coats over Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth  topped with SH Mega Shine.

The glitters in this do need to be placed but other than that there are no issues to report. The formula is consistent with all the others, nice and smooth and no fishing for glitters was required. The base is sheer enough that it could be layered over pretty much any color but If you really wanted to you may be able to get away with wearing it alone since the base does seem like it would build up enough to be opaque in about 3 coats.

Pink Rain…
…”a mixture of iridescent peach, mat pink and neon pink glitter in a clear base.”
All photos of Pink Rain are shown as 2 coats over Finger Paints Paper Mâché topped with SH Mega Shine.

As you can see the base is a slightly tinted pink, so either the description is a little off or some of the glitters have tinted it a bit. This one was by far the hardest to work with. It was much thicker than the others, causing it to look a bit clumpy. Since it was a bit thicker it also dried a bit slower as well. I think a bit of thinner would help this out though.
