I know we have just broken through into Spring but today I have my first Summer collection to show you! POFA Nail Color is a new brand for me to try, though I had heard of this brand for the first time about a year ago. I unfortunately haven't been able to find out much about this brand, there don't really seem to be any reviews or background info available and I have yet to hear back in regards to if this company is 3/4/5Free and/or cruelty free. Once I get that information I will update this post though. :)
I have 6 shades to show you all today. All 6 are shown as 2 coats. Formula for all were perfect: no flooding, pooling or dragging and they had excellent dry time as well. They all pack an amazing shine and are shown here without a top coat.
Gemma: a red creme.
This is a very pretty, deep red. The picture above is more color accurate than the bottom, I always have a hard time with reds, they usually make my camera freak out and make me look like I have lobster hands, so I recruited my iPhone to take a truer to color pic.
Naftaly: a red-orange crelly.
I always tend to neglect my oranges, then when I finally use one I feel like kicking myself for it! This is a gorgeous fiery shade and it is safe to say it my favorite out of the set.
Briana: a soft pink jelly.
Of the whole set this was the only one that required a 3rd coat since it's more on the sheer side also due to the softness of the color. It also did tend to pull ever so slightly towards the top of the nail, just make sure you wait for the previous coat to sufficiently dry before applying the next and it shouldn't be an issue.
Melanie: a medium pink creme.
The top photo was taken with my iPhone, to most the differences may not be apparent. However the top picture shows the underlying hint purple in this shade just a little more. In the bottle I thought, meh just another medium pink. On the nail it was much more, the purple made it's appearance. Is it a truly unique shade? Probably not. But that doesn't mean it's a dupe for anything I already have. I could totally see myself using this for nail art or glitter undies. Hell it's really pretty all on it's own.
Jessica: an orchid purple creme.
Personally this color doesn't do much for me, so I was disappointed when Radiant Orchid was named the Pantone color of the year. I'm a huge fan of purples but this shade doesn't look good on me. It sort of falls flat against my skin tone. However, even if it's not good for me it is still a beautiful shade with an excellent formula. This is the sort of shade that would look amazing on my little red head. With her delicate looking porcelain skin this would compliment her beautifully.
Sathina: a yellow green creme.
This is one of those colors that you either love or hate, I LOVE it! I'm a huge fan of funky and even ugly greens. These type of greens make excellent undies for a cool mix of glitters. This one has a slightly thicker formula than the rest and dries slightly less glossy than the others as well. I would recommend top coat for all of them to ensure you have a longer lasting manicure but for sure with this one to even out any brush strokes and to give it the same high shine as the rest, though I think this would look even more amazeballs matte!
