Cameo Colours Lacquers: The Floral Feelings Collection

Press Sample

Hi everyone! Today I have a gorgeous collection by Cameo Colours Lacquers. The Floral Feelings collection consists of 5 polishes: 4 metallic holos and 1 holo/glitter topper.
I have the 4 opaque polishes shown here as 3 coats topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top. Since I have pretty long nails I felt I needed that extra coat to ensure I had no VNL. If you have average length nails you should be able to get away with 2 coats fairly easy. The formula for these are excellent. They apply smooth and even, no dragging/pulling or flooding of the cuticles or sides. they also have excellent dry time. The holo is more noticeable in person, it's definitely not an in your face holo, more of a subtle kiss of it, so it doesn't take away from the other elements of the polishes.

Model City Polish: Summer Collection 2016 (Picture Heavy)

Hi guys! Today I have the Model City Summer Collection to show you. This collection consists of 6 vibrant polishes with holographic pigment and ultra holo glitter of various sizes. I did my best to try and capture all the sparkle and to show you how they all look in different kinds of light. YOU will notice that the holo in some appear more intense than in others, that's mostly because my camera was flipping out over the bright colors and the sparkle. LOL This collection will launch TODAY at 7pm CST.

These all have wonderful formulas, not to thick but just enough to give them good control during application. They dry down fairly quick and the glitters settle into the polish nicely so there isn't any texture to them at all. I have all 6 shown here as 2 coats topped with Serum No 5 Need For Speed Top Coat.

Now it's time for swatches...

Superchic Lacquer: Project Runway Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! I have a late night post for ya tonight. I just got these late Sunday and had to try and rush to get them swatched since they are launching tomorrow! I really wanted to show you how beautifully holo these are, but the sun just wasn't cooperating with me. Soooooo since it was cloudy and gloomy I had to use my trusty ol' Ottie! While I didn't manage to capture some of the holo-ie goodness, these photos really don't do justice to this collection. Trust me when I say they are super sparkly and rainbowy. Do you like how I just make up words? LOL

The Superchic Lacquer Project Runway Collection consists of 8 "SuperHolo" shades, basically a holo pigmented base packed full of holo micro glitters. I have all 8 swatched here as 1 coat, yes 1, topped with 1 coat of Superchic Marvel Top Coat. Jen has said that since these are "high saturation" colors, they can possibly cause some staining. I didn't have any problems, just make sure to use a good quality base coat to prevent any issues. The holo is very noticeable in all of these, both scattered and linear, it just depends on the light and angle to determine which you will see.

The formula for these is on the thicker side, personally I prefer a thick formula. I find that with a thick formula you get better control, making application easier and requiring less clean up, if any at all. Just make sure to not over work the polish when applying or you will have some pulling since it very glitter dense. I did use only one thick coat for each of these but you could definitely use 2 thinner coats if you prefer. If you do, just be patient and allow the first coat to dry down completely first or you will have some clumping. Since these are very glitter dense they do dry down textured, but not at all abrasive. On a scale of 1-5 (1 = no texture, 5 = rough) I'd say these are about a 3/3.5. I only used 1 coat of top coat because 1) I was running low ( I actually used the last of my Marvel Top Coat on these swatches) and 2) I wanted to see how hungry these polishes were. At first I thought I could get away with 1 coat but they did eat my top coat just a bit so I will definitely do 2 next time I wear them.
Let's get into the swatches now...

KBShimmer: Ripe For the Pink-ing & Purr-fectly Paw-some for Spring 2016

Press Sample

Hi guys, long time no see! I have been so bad at keeping up with the blog lately, I have just had a lot of stuff going on in my life I've had difficulty in finding time and then getting motivated for anything. I'm not making any promises to post as often as I used to but I would like to post at least once a week from here on out, but again, NO promises! ;)

Anyway! Today I have a couple of stunning KBShimmer polishes to show you. I have 1 of seven shades from the Mega Flame Collection for Spring 2016, which consists of 7 holographic micro glitter shades in a tinted jelly base. I also have 1 of seven new polishes from the Spring 2016 collection, which consists of a mix of finishes from holo to a matte neon glitter topper. So let's just jump right into my swatches, shall we?

Superchic Lacquer: The Once Upon A Diamond Collection Swatches (Picture Heavy)

Hello again! This is my second Superchic Lacquer post for the day. If you missed my Ugly Sweater Party Trio post, click that link and check it out!

This second post is a larger collection, and it's all textures! As you may know, I am a sucker for textured polishes! However, I also know that some of you don't really care for textures, so I have textured pictures and top coat pictures so everyone can enjoy these beauties! I would describe the texture of these as similar to Zoya's Magical PixieDust: slightly chunky, non abrasive and super sparkly! Each of these polishes contains a 1/2 carat of diamond crystals!

I have all shown here as 2 coats. The top coat pictures are shown with 1 coat of Glitter Food by Nail Pattern Boldness to smooth them out and then Superchic Marvel Top Coat to give it a glassy shine! All of them had the same formulas, nice and opaque and the glitters spread evenly across the nail. I do recommend that you place them all upside down for about 5-10 minutes prior to application so you can get a good mix of glitters, especially the larger ones, to come to the top for easier access. I will note however that the larger ones, like the triangles, are really only for an accent not to cover the nails.

I can tell you that even though the textured photos don't look as sparkly as the top coat ones they really are. Also when using the top coat to smooth them out, make sure to allow enough dry time. It will take a bit longer with the extra layers and your nails can be a little thicker, though not too much to make it unwearable. Just be patient. Now let's take a look at these swatches...

Takko Lacquer: Partial Summer Collection, Cosmoprof Color & 3rd Birthday Color Swatches and Restock Info

Hi guys! I know I don't generally get to post my indies on the blog anymore but I want to try and do mini posts like the one I will be doing today more often. I sort of stepped away form full time "blogging" in favor of posting my reviews/swatches to Instagram because it's easier, faster and just more convenient to post there. I won't be doing full blown posts with multiple photos, unless I have the time, instead I'll post a quick rundown with 1 photo of each polish, a link to it's original review post and a link to it's macro shot (if available) that will be on my Instagram account, @sassypaints2012. These links will give you the normal information I'd usually put in a review post here; shade descriptions, how the polish applies, and any other information I deem important.
I know that some of our IG feeds tend to move rather quickly and you can really miss some great photos, I hope this will help bring you more of my swatches/reviews and in turn get more of these great polishes on your fingers!

Recently I had the great honor of being asked to swatch for Takko Lacquer! I was thrilled to have this opportunity and of course jumped right on it. Up first I have 4 polishes from the Summer Collection,. These and the rest of the Summer Collection will be restocked today at 8pm ET.

Hi guys! I was excited to have received some of the new polishes from SinfulColors' Summer collection to review. I was sent 6 polishes and 1 set of appliqués. I was well on my way to swatching all of them for you and them *WOMP WOMP* I broke a nail! :/ Instead of reswatching all of them to match in length I opted for two separate posts. So in today's post I have 3 of the 6 polishes to show you.

Forever Polished: It's A Fairy World Collection Swatches & Review

Hi loves! So I have had a heck of a week and fell waaaay behind. I had originally planned on having several posts up this week but my darling husband injured himself at work and I have had to help him get around. That and the fact that I don’t actually have Internet, I use the library for that, It’s just been difficult to find the time to get to a connection. So next week I will hopefully have a week full of posts! ♥

Anyway, today I have a new collection from Forever Polished to show you. This collection is a Spin-off inspired by the polish Fairy Party of  the Mythical Party collection. All of these have an excellent formula, applying smooth and distributing glitter evenly over the nail.

Zoya Summer 2014 Magical Pixie Dust Trio Swatches and Review

Hi guys! I finally have the Zoya Summer Magical Pixies swatched for you! I was originally going to post them much sooner but I figured I'd let the flood of posts die down a little. :) These are a little different from the last Magical Pixie trio, those had a more metallic base where these ones have a jelly base making them a bit more sheer. The formulas are excellent, as I expected them to be, and of course the sparkle is brilliant!
I have all three shown here as 3 coats no base or top coat.
Like all pixies, you want to make sure to give enough dry time between coats to prevent any clumping, dragging or pulling of glitters.

Model City Polish: "Charmed"

Happy Friday! I have been so busy this week I have hardly had time to post but I wanted to show you all this gorgeous polish I wore this week. It was my intention to post this on Tuesday as a Try It On Tuesday post, but like I said It's been crazy busy. I only recently tried Model City Polish when I did a review for Nina a few weeks back. I have since fallen in love with her gorgeous lacquers and see myself adding more to my collection in the future, especially since she has announced that she will be releasing a Resident Evil collection very soon! Yes I am a RE fan! Movies and games, even though I suck at playing the games! LOL Anyway, let's take a look at this beauty shall we?

Zoya: Magical Pixie Swatches & Review

Press Sample

Hello again! I know I already posted once today but I have to catch up on some posts and I figured no one wouldn’t mind a second post, right? Especially since the second one is an  awesome Zoya post! I have the Magical Pixie Trio to show you. These were first announced back at the beginning of the year, when I got that press release I was over the moon excited! It’s no secret I am all about the textured trend. I usually don’t like textures and normally when I find a tend I like I only stick to it for a little while and then I get bored. This is not the case with textured polishes, especially when Zoya keeps releasing such awesome shades! These are a little different than the PixieDust polishes we're used to because they have some added flair! Each of these three have

All three of these Magical Pixie formulas were consistent with what I have come to expect of Zoya PixieDusts: applying smooth, no flooding or pooling. You will need to make sure your first coat has sufficiently dried before continuing on to the second or you will end up with dragging and clumping.

Celestial Cosmetics: "Santa's Blue Balls", "Harley Dyna" & "Anti-Matter"

I’m starting to think that this winter is never going to end. All weekend I was hoping the sun was going to make an appearance, it didn’t. Boo! I really needed the sun for one of these polishes, but the show must go on so I swatched it without it. Anyway. Today I have more Celestial Cosmetics for your viewing pleasure. Celestial is one of my favorite Aussie brands, the colors never disappoint and the formulas are always flawless. I am so happy that these are available for worldwide shipping through Color4Nails, this brand is to awesome to keep in Australia only!
Up first...

Today I have a lovely glitter topper that is going to be part of Rainbow Honey's Midnight Garden Spring Collection, which should be releasing sometime in Mid March.

Renaissance Custom Lacquer: Love...Everyday Collection

Happy Friday loves! Valentine's Day is just one week away and I have some polishes from Renaissance Custom Lacquers to show you just for that occasion! The best thing about these? That even though they are for V-Day they aren't overly lovey dovey or too themed so they can be worn any day of the year!

This indie brand has been around for a while but it's a new one for me, so I was super excited to have the privilege to be able to show them to you all! Glam Polish "High Priestess" & "Book of Shadows"

Hello Loves!! How was everyone’s New Years Eve/ New Years Day? I managed to have some fun even though I’m still, yes still, under the weather. Thankfully it’s just some sinus stuff going on right now, but it has been messing with my eyes so badly. I woke up the other day and just couldn’t manage to focus on anything because my eyes were so watery. It’s been so much fun, sense the sarcasm? LOL

Anyway, I’m happy to finally show you these next two beauties from Glam Polish. They are from the Cast a Spell collection that released this fall but they just recently became available through Color4Nails for international purchase! Color4Nails is your exclusive US Stockist for Glam Polish, they have great prices and super fast shipping on top of great customer service! I highly recommend Color4Nails.

WingDust Collections "Blue Like Jazz"

Hello loves! Did anyone get a significant amount of snow last week or through the weekend? We only got a little, probably more ice than snow, but the schools sure took full advantage and took a couple of days off. LOL

Well since its Tuesday you know what that means. Yes, it’s Try It On Tuesday! There are only 3 more Tuesdays left in 2013, can you believe that? I have been doing TIOT all year, missing a few here and there, and I really thought that by the end of the year I would have made a larger dent in my untrieds.  Unfortunately as a polish addict I tend to accumulate more than I actually get to try. I have done a lot better, I’ve cut back on my purchases drastically and have destashed a lot, which by the way I sill have some of those available for purchase on my storenvy shop!

Today’s untried is a gorgeous shade from one of my all time favorite indies. I purchased this almost a year ago and have bought even more from Stephanie since then, but I just kept overlooking this one. I’m regretting that now because this is probably one of my new favorites from WingDust Collections! Though I tend to say that a lot when I try out a new polish that Steph makes! She seriously makes nail crack, she is my dealer and I‘m super addicted! LOL
