Zoya: Seashells (PixieDust) Summer 2016

Hey guys!  I have the second half of the Summer Zoya Collections for you all today. Seashells consists of 6 beautiful PixieDust polishes. I was extremely happy when I saw that Zoya was releasing more Pixies because textures are, by far, my favorite finish.
I have all 6 shown here as 2 coats, no top coat. When applying Pixies make sure to allow the first coat to dry down completely, then you can add the second coat with no dragging. It will also insure that you get a nice textured finish.

Zoya: Sunsets (One Coat Cremes) Summer 2016

Hey guys! Long time no see! It's been a crazy 6 months for me, I've just had so much going on in my personal life, so I just haven't had time to post to the blog. Since I've been on break I've managed to collect quite the pile of Zoya Collections that I needed to swatch/post. Over the last 48 hours I have knocked out several sets, so I will be putting up a few posts between now and New Years Eve.

The first set I have to show you is part 1 of the Summer 2016 Collection, the Sunsets. This set consists of 6 bright creme polishes. I have all 6 shown here as 1 easy coat with a fast drying glossy top coat.

Model City Polish: Summer Collection 2016 (Picture Heavy)

Hi guys! Today I have the Model City Summer Collection to show you. This collection consists of 6 vibrant polishes with holographic pigment and ultra holo glitter of various sizes. I did my best to try and capture all the sparkle and to show you how they all look in different kinds of light. YOU will notice that the holo in some appear more intense than in others, that's mostly because my camera was flipping out over the bright colors and the sparkle. LOL This collection will launch TODAY at 7pm CST.

These all have wonderful formulas, not to thick but just enough to give them good control during application. They dry down fairly quick and the glitters settle into the polish nicely so there isn't any texture to them at all. I have all 6 shown here as 2 coats topped with Serum No 5 Need For Speed Top Coat.

Now it's time for swatches...

Superchic Lacquer: Project Runway Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! I have a late night post for ya tonight. I just got these late Sunday and had to try and rush to get them swatched since they are launching tomorrow! I really wanted to show you how beautifully holo these are, but the sun just wasn't cooperating with me. Soooooo since it was cloudy and gloomy I had to use my trusty ol' Ottie! While I didn't manage to capture some of the holo-ie goodness, these photos really don't do justice to this collection. Trust me when I say they are super sparkly and rainbowy. Do you like how I just make up words? LOL

The Superchic Lacquer Project Runway Collection consists of 8 "SuperHolo" shades, basically a holo pigmented base packed full of holo micro glitters. I have all 8 swatched here as 1 coat, yes 1, topped with 1 coat of Superchic Marvel Top Coat. Jen has said that since these are "high saturation" colors, they can possibly cause some staining. I didn't have any problems, just make sure to use a good quality base coat to prevent any issues. The holo is very noticeable in all of these, both scattered and linear, it just depends on the light and angle to determine which you will see.

The formula for these is on the thicker side, personally I prefer a thick formula. I find that with a thick formula you get better control, making application easier and requiring less clean up, if any at all. Just make sure to not over work the polish when applying or you will have some pulling since it very glitter dense. I did use only one thick coat for each of these but you could definitely use 2 thinner coats if you prefer. If you do, just be patient and allow the first coat to dry down completely first or you will have some clumping. Since these are very glitter dense they do dry down textured, but not at all abrasive. On a scale of 1-5 (1 = no texture, 5 = rough) I'd say these are about a 3/3.5. I only used 1 coat of top coat because 1) I was running low ( I actually used the last of my Marvel Top Coat on these swatches) and 2) I wanted to see how hungry these polishes were. At first I thought I could get away with 1 coat but they did eat my top coat just a bit so I will definitely do 2 next time I wear them.
Let's get into the swatches now...

Polish 'M: Rest & Relaxation Collection

Hi all! Today I have a beautiful Polish 'M collection to show you. The Rest & Relaxation collection consists of 10 polishes: 8 "Cremelly" polishes (which basically means they are more of a creme base than a typical crelly) and 2 crelly-glitter polishes, all packed with gorgeous shimmer. All are shown as 2 coats unless otherwise noted, topped with Serum No.5 Need For Speed Top Coat. They all have the fabulous formula that I have come to expect and love when using Polish 'M lacquers; a nice formula that applies easily, no dragging, pooling, flooding of the cuticles or sides and no thickening during application. The crelly-glitters have a lovely opaqueness to them, the glitters distribute nice and even and they look so squishy once you top coat them! Let's get to the swatches...

Superchic Lacquer: Scriptures Collection Swatches

GOOD MORNING and a very happy Wednesday to you! I have some gorgeous polishes to show to you today from the Superchic Lacquer Scriptures Collection.

The Scriptures Collection consists of 8 multichrome flakie/micro glitter polishes. All of them can be layered over your favorite color undies or can be worn alone in just 2 generous coats. I have all 8 shades swatched as stand alone colors for you today. Because these all dry down very textured I topped each mani with 2 coats of Superchic Lacquer Marvel TopCoat to get a nice smooth finish. If you are going to wear these solo you will want to male sure that you do a couple of things. First, use very generous coats. Next, let the first coat dry down completely. Then, when you apply the second coat make sure you do it lightly to avoid tugging the glitter and flakies off the nail. You may even want to dab this coat on to ensure an opaque finish. I just want to note that my descriptions are my own, there may be some colors I missed in the shifting flakies. So please forgive me if I'm a little off.

Now let's jump into swatches...

Press Sample

Hello loves! Today I have an extra special post for you. I am privileged to say that I was selected to review the Winter Spread Indie Love Box. This is the second Spread Indie Love Box and there are different Indie collaborators than the last one. The idea behind this box is to show the indie community some much deserved love.  It's also a fun way to allow you, the customer, to become more acquainted with brands and products you may not have heard of or tried yet. If you have tried any of (or all of) these brands, this is a fantastic way to get your hands on products that will be exclusive to these boxes only!

This season's box features 5 full size polishes, 1 bath bomb and 1 full size soap. There are also a few samples included as well! I'll tell you right off the bat, as soon as I opened my mail box the lovely scent that came out made me so excited to open this baby up!

Superchic Lacquer: The Once Upon A Diamond Collection Swatches (Picture Heavy)

Hello again! This is my second Superchic Lacquer post for the day. If you missed my Ugly Sweater Party Trio post, click that link and check it out!

This second post is a larger collection, and it's all textures! As you may know, I am a sucker for textured polishes! However, I also know that some of you don't really care for textures, so I have textured pictures and top coat pictures so everyone can enjoy these beauties! I would describe the texture of these as similar to Zoya's Magical PixieDust: slightly chunky, non abrasive and super sparkly! Each of these polishes contains a 1/2 carat of diamond crystals!

I have all shown here as 2 coats. The top coat pictures are shown with 1 coat of Glitter Food by Nail Pattern Boldness to smooth them out and then Superchic Marvel Top Coat to give it a glassy shine! All of them had the same formulas, nice and opaque and the glitters spread evenly across the nail. I do recommend that you place them all upside down for about 5-10 minutes prior to application so you can get a good mix of glitters, especially the larger ones, to come to the top for easier access. I will note however that the larger ones, like the triangles, are really only for an accent not to cover the nails.

I can tell you that even though the textured photos don't look as sparkly as the top coat ones they really are. Also when using the top coat to smooth them out, make sure to allow enough dry time. It will take a bit longer with the extra layers and your nails can be a little thicker, though not too much to make it unwearable. Just be patient. Now let's take a look at these swatches...

Once Upon A Diamond Collection (Textured)

Superchic Lacquer: Ugly Sweater Party Trio Swatches & Review

Hi guys! I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and you are well into enjoying your weekend. Today I have 2...yes TWO...posts to share with you. Superchic has two beautiful holiday/winter collections that are releasing Wednesday. One thing that I want to note before I show you the swatches; Back in September Jen announced that her bottles had been discontinued so we would be seeing a new style. Well these new collections she has releasing will be debuting the new style, a kind of bubble round bottle with a white pointed cap. The new shape/style are very cute and some of you may be really happy with this change because I know you have expressed a dislike of the old star bottles. I want to warn you though to make sure to have a good grip on these when picking them up by the cap since they can tend to slip right out of your fingers if you don't. Other than that I'm loving the new look!

KBShimmer: Breaking Blues & Carpe Denim for Fall 2015 Swatches

Good morning and happy Monday! I have so much to show you guys this week, well over the next 2 weeks actually. Between swatching, getting blog posts ready, working and prepping for the holiday...I may just lose my mind here shortly! Oh well, that's life.

I figured since winter is just around the corner I should show you all these two fall polishes first in my long line of planned posts. I was originally supposed to show these to you a couple of months ago but, silly me, I listed my address incorrectly and wound up receiving them with my winter samples! Oops! I'm so bad about proofing. Anyway, these babies were definitely worth the wait, so let's get to it...

Elevation Polish: Glacier Collection & Yeti Duo Swatches

Hey guys! Who's going crazy with the upcoming holiday? ME!! So let's take a nice break and look at some pretty polishes! Today I have the two newest collections from Elevation to show you. Up first I have the Glacier Collection...

Engilchek Glacier: "a dusty light purple shimmer. Micro shimmer in pink & violet."

Shown as 2 coats topped with Superchic Marvel Top Coat.
This has an excellent formula. There was no flooding the cuticles or sides, no dragging or balding and very self leveling. The shimmer is a bit muted until under direct light but when it shows it's gorgeous!
Engilchek retails for $9.

Zoya: Flair for Fall 2015 (Full collection swatches)

Hello loves! I hope everyone's weekend was great. It has finally started cooling down here, it's really beginning to feel like fall. So I have some great fall shades from Zoya's Flair collection. This set consists of 6 metallic polishes. I have all 6 shown here as 2 coats, unless noted below, topped with Superchic Lacquer Marvel Top Coat. They all have excellent formulas, applying silky smooth, and they dry very quickly. I love Zoya's metallic formulas because they aren't brush strokey and they have a lovely shimmer to them.

Superchic Lacquer: Dreamology Collection Swatches

Hey all! Today I have a stunning Fall collection from Superchic Lacquer to show you. The Dreamology collection, the first of two collections Jen has created for us, consists of 6 rich linear holographic polishes. I have each shown here as 1 coat, yes 1 coat, topped with Superchic Marvel Top Coat. These are all extremely pigmented so you need to make sure you wear a good base coat to prevent any possible staining. The formula for these is a little on the thicker side, not gloopy though so don't worry about that, The thicker consistency makes it easier to apply in one coat and gives you lots of control so it doesn't flood the cuticle or sides. I would recommend that if you tend to polish a bit heavy handed to try and use a bit of a lighter touch though, otherwise you will have a little bit of dragging. Other than that I had no issues at all, they are perfect!

Let's dive into the swatches...

Zoya: Focus for Fall 2015 (Full collection swatches)

Press Sample

Hi guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend and your week is off to a good start. Summer is coming to a close, even though this heat seems to be sticking around, and Fall is fast approaching. I have no idea why but this year I was ready for summer to end. I usually live for the summer months but this year I have been really looking forward to all the great things fall has to offer: pumpkin and salted caramel everything, cooler weather, the end of mosquito bites and all the darker, rich colors that mother nature and the beauty world has to offer!

Today I have the first of 2 collections Zoya released for the upcoming fall season. The Focus collection consists of 6 creme polishes in perfect shades for the cooler months to come.
I have all 6 shown as 2 coats without top coat, I really wanted to show you how beautifully these shine all on their own, though for longevity purposes I do always recommend a good top coat!
They all have the wonderful formula that I have come to know and love with Zoya polishes. They have the perfect consistency, giving excellent control, for easy flood free application. They are fairly self leveling, extremely opaque and have a fast dry time. I had not one issue to report, even with Sia (the blue in this set). Zoya warns you to wear a base coat to prevent staining because of how pigmented it is. I always use a base coat and I recommend you do too, not only to prevent staining but to make your manicure last longer. Zoya has an excellent base coat and quick drying top coat as well. Well, let's take a look at the swatches...
