Illamasqua " Lament" & Nars "Orgasm"

Hello loves, welcome to another Try It On Tuesday! It's been a couple of weeks since I posted a TIOT here so I figured I needed to do one even though it's been a busy day and I am taking care of my poor sick hubby.

Born Pretty Store Round Neon Studs

Hello loves! I hope everyone is having a lovely evening! I would have had a post up earlier today but I had a lunch date with my dad, which was really nice since we don't get too see each other very often. We talked like gabby school girls! LOL Once I got back home I went into full swing cleaning mode for some reason! On the up side my living room is spotless and I got 5 loads of laundry done!

So tonight, as promised, I have another Born Pretty Store post for you all. I really love using studs with my nail art so when Born Pretty Store started carrying neon studs I was giddy! Yes the silver and gold ones are nice but sometimes you want to add a little color to your manicure! These will definitely do the trick!

Mish Mash Challenge: Metallic

Hello loves, happy Wednesday! I have another really quick Mish Mash Challenge post today, I promise that I will take my time on these posts soon. I'm still playing catch up on review posts and still a bit under the weather so I'm still just kind of zipping through the Mish Mash posts, but hey it's on time this week!
I was looking forward to doing this day in the challenge and had a specific mani in mind. When I came down to it I wound up doing something completely different! LOL

Mix-N-Match Mani - Guest Post by LOZLOSA!

Today's Guest post is brought to us by Lisa of  LOZLOSA a mother daughter duo who share a passion for polish. I love that these 2 ladies have such an awesome thing to bond over! Lisa is probably one of the friendliest and genuine ladies I have ever come across in the blogging world! She is also so well worded that she can make me giggle with her humorous posts and her encouraging comments! I only wish I could spin a phrase the way Lisa can, her posts are always entertaining along with her beautiful nails! I will now turn this post over to our guest poster, I know you will just love this beautiful mani!  ♥

Nail art with Stamping & Pearls from the Born Pretty Store

Second post of the night!! Whoop whoop! This post ties in with my previous post so I wanted to do them back to back. Anyway, I was doing a little bit of playing around with some stamping this weekend! I will confess, I'm not that great at it. When I first started playing around with nail art I went a little crazy and got a TON of stamping plates thinking it would be easy, man was I wrong! I probably have about 6 different white and black polishes all because I was trying to find the perfect one for stamping and I never did so I gave up. The polish has to be the right consistency for it to really transfer an image if you are a beginner. (I know some girls that are stamping pros and can use any polish and I'm just not one of those girls!) When The Born Pretty Store contacted me and asked if I would like to pick a couple of items to review I was super excited to try out their stamping polishes! I have been told that these special polishes make stamping less of a chore. I have had several girls tell me that stamping is hard for them too, so I was hoping this would be a solution to our stamping blues and I would start using some of these plates!

Sunday Stamping: Butterflies

As promised I am going to try and do a bit of weekend stamping every other weekend. This is my first attempt at stamping a several months, so I went a little easy. My hubby and I had plans to go to the butterfly house with my mom and niece today, so I decided on simple butterflies. Too bad we never actually made it to the butterfly house! But we did go bowling! ;)

My "Nail" Year Resolutions

Happy Wednesday all my Sassy Painters! I hope everyone is surviving what I'm sure is the first day back to work for most of you. I am working on a post right now for a little later on today. I really have got to get to crankin' these swatches out! I have LOTS of Indies to show you, some never before seen collections and some that have been out for a little while and should really be given a second look if you haven't gotten them already! Before I post my review post for today I have a few things I wanted to tell you all. I have been thinking about quality content for my readers and how to better utilize my time for the blog. So I have come up with a few things that are kind of my resolutions for the blog over the next year.

Day 22 "Inspired by a song"

Hi all, I know I'm late posting but at least I'm posing closer to the actual day than I have been! Today's mani was a tough one for me. I had a few ideas and I just wasn't feeling any of them. That on top of the killer headache I haven't been able to shake for about a week now I just said eff it and went with the song that kept popping in to my head all day anyway Mariposa Traicionera (treacherous butterfly) by Mana
Actually they were inspired by the album art for the single.

Delicate Flowers...Days 14 & 15

Ok here it goes!  I am rushing through this post to try and beat midnight! O_O  I've been slacking off a bit lately and I need to get ahead of the game here! I apologize.
Today is day15 of the 31 day challenge but, since I missed day 14, I decided to combine the 2!

I started off with 2 coats of L'Oreal VIP Status...

VIP Status is a lovely charcoal color with a kind of blue undertone.

The formula is awesome, 2 coats gave full opacity and it is very forgiving if spots are missed, which I tend to do, you can go back over those spots and it blends well.

Then using Bundle Monster stamp plate BM-318 I stamped hibiscus flowers with Essie No Place Like Chrome.

I'm still working on perfecting my stamping skills but I LOVE stamping with the Essie Mirror Metallics. They are thick enough to make stamping so much easier for someone who gets the process but hasn't got it down pat yet.

I felt it was lacking something, and it was still a bit to severe in contrast to be "delicate" so I wanted to add something and decided on Finger Paints Flecked.

This is my first time using a flakie. I have to say I am in Love! I love the texture it brings to the mani without being overpowering like normal glitter can be. This particular bottle was a prize in a giveaway that I recently won.

I decided I wanted to make this a matte mani to make it even more subtle so I used my new butterLondon Matte Finish.

Unfortunately in my excitement over using 2 new polishes I forgot to take pictures before I mattified it! Sorry! It was just as lovely all shinny as it is matte, at least I thought so.

Sorry about all the pictures I just couldn't get enough! LOL

As always don't forget to check out what the other lovely ladies have done!
Aaaaaand...if you haven't entered my giveaway click on the picture on the left of the page right above my profile!

Grey's Anatomy

Just a quick late night post here! I had planned on getting this up much earlier but I got wrapped up in some house work and then the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy came on! I just wanted to do show you gals my Grey's Anatomy mani!

I applied 3 coats of Wet n Wild  Gray's Anatomy

I have seen this color in the store about a million times and never bothered getting it because it didn't really wow me. But while I was at CVS the other day the girl at check out said that there was a bin that had a bunch of polishes for $.20! Yes twenty cents! So I grabbed every color they had in that bin, and Gray's Anatomy was one of them!

I actually like this so much more than I originally thought! This just goes to show that you can't judge a bottle by its color! Swatches are so important! It looks way better on my hand than in the bottle.

I really like the how the color shifts from gray to lavender to green!

Then I drew some hearts with Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar on my middle finger and stamped the rest of the nails with Finger Paints Black Expressionism using my Mash plate M-38.

Did anyone else watch the Grey's Anatomy premier tonight? If so, did you cry like a GIANT baby? No? Well...um neither did I. LOL! Yes I'm a crier!

31 Day Challenge: Day 10 "Gradient"

Sorry this is so late but I had a busy and emotional weekend with my stepdaughter. It's very hard on her living so far away, so we had a rough couple of days. :(
Left to Right:
Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet
Sinful Colors Exotic Green
Sinful Colors Last Chance
Orly Mermaid Tale
I decided that since the Weeds finale is tonight I would make my gradient nails into Weeds nails! I am sad I wont get to watch the Botwins get into any more trouble until next season.
So without further ado here is my day 10 mani!
I have to say I wasn't sure about Mermaid Tale, I only bought it because it was on sale at Sally's, but I am so happy I did. It's much prettier once applied than it looks in the bottle.

I stamped my "weeds" with stamp plate BM-07

I hope you like my gradient nails! Don't forget to check out all the other gradients done by the lovely ladies listed below!

Also, don't forget to be a GFC/Twitter follower or like my Facebook fan page! Once we reach 100 on one of them I will have my first giveaway, and I've been collecting a lot of goodies for the occasion!

Now I'm off to go see the other mani's and to watch my Weeds! Thank goodness for DVR!

Showing support with Teal!

I have a ton of swatching I plan on getting done today but I wanted to leave you guys a little post. Everyone has been blogging and posting on facebook all of their Teal manis for Ovarian Cancer Awareness so I wanted to do one as well.

I started off with 2 coats of Elle On Location.
I would compare this to Sinful Colors Cinderella but with a much better formula. It requires less coats and no undies...maybe I'll do a comparison one day.

Unfortunately I forgot to photograph my left hand (swatch hand) before I went to the next step, that's why my pics are a bit awkward! Sorry!

Next I stamped ribbons using plates BM 321 & 324  with Sinful Colors Savage.

Then I applied 2 coats of Elevation Polish Stay Behind Catch A Wave.

I've been waiting for the perfect time to use Stay Behind, It was a giveaway prize from Dulcie at OhThreeOhFour.

I would love to see everyone's Teal manis, so come by my facebook fan page and post yours for everyone to enjoy!!!
And don't forget, once I reach 100 GFC Followers, FB likes or witter followers I will be hosting my first giveaway!
Happy Wednesday!

2 Challenges 1 Post, Cheater, Cheater, Orange Eater!

Well hello all! I decided, after much debate, to do just one post for both of the challenges that I have homework due for today...My Favorite Food for the My Favorite Things Challenge by Ooh La La Polish and the Color Orange for the 31 Day Challenge by Kimber's Lacquer Korner. I was going to go with Sushi but lets face it I just didn't feel up to drawing/painting all those little rolls and sashimi pieces...I know, I suck! So I went with one of my favorite fruits. I know I went easy, but who really doesn't like oranges???? They ARE amazing! Hello!
For this post I used an array of orange hues.
D&R Apothecary Clownin Around
and Sinful Colors Pull Over, Clementine and Citrine.

I started off with 2 coats of Pull Over. (Don't mind the oops on my middle finger, it disappears once I get to the next step) Now I am fairly sure this color is a dupe for China Glaze Sun Worshiper which I used fairly recently. I may need to do a comparison post soon because application was completely different on these 2 brands. Anyway...

I decided on a sponged gradient look. Don't mind my polish encrusted water glass there, I use it for my water marbling and for sponging so it gets a bit  gookie.

See, no more oops on my middle finger! =)

This was 2 sponged applications. ^^^

I then used Sinful Colors Snow Me White with BM-308 to stamp on my oranges.
I had a horrible stamping night with this look. It took me like a million and one tries before I finally just said foooook it and just left them all jacked up! I was fed up, I don't care!

And applied a coat of D&R Apothecary Clownin Around.
I have used a few of D&R's polishes now and this one is probably my least favorite. It has a nice shimmery orange base and a TON of multi colored, sized and shaped glitters but it was almost impossible to get the glitter out of the bottle. No matter how hard and how long I shook it they mostly stuck to the side and bottom of the bottle.

So here is my orange orange challenge mani....thank god this one was finished!

Make sure to check out the other girls in both of these challenges!
