Nail Pattern Boldness *The Time Traveler Collection*

Good afternoon boys and girls! I am sorry for the lack of posting and interacting on Facebook right now. I owe you all a recreation post for the final day of the 31 day challenge and I will have it for you but I am trying to catch up on a few things and I am having an issue with my internet that doesn't look like it will be resolved until after the holiday! Now I am at the mercy of the library WiFi, thank goodness it's just a few blocks away so I can just take a nice little walk to do my posts. It's just strange having to be super prepared before I start writing my posts! LOL Anyway.
Today I have a very special post for you! I recently told you all that I was sent a lot of goodies from Allison of Nail Pattern Boldness. Some of those goodies are what I'm going to show you today!
The Time Traveler Collection is inspired by Doctor Who. Now, I will not lie, I haven't seen Doctor Who since I was little when my mom use to watch, so I have no real recollection of the old series and I  have not seen the new either. However I do know 1 thing for sure fans and non fans have been waiting for this collection to debut! So without further ado, I now present to you the very first swatches of Nail Pattern Boldness Time Traveler Collection...

Hello, Sweetie:  "A purple jelly with black, copper and red glitter, hexes and squares in various sizes. Inspired by River Song."

All photos of Hello, Sweetie are shown with 2 generous coats topped with 1 coat of NPB Glitter Food to ensure smoothness then 1 coat Sally Hansen Mega Shine for faster drying and shine.

I am so in awe of the color combo in this beauty! Hearing the colors you really wouldn't think it would work together, but Allison made this purple just the perfect color to go with the copper, which is unique in itself, and then the red on top of it! I have nothing like this in my stash, it's a must in a polish hoarders collection!

Application was smooth. No dragging, pooling or flooding. Glitters came out with no problem and went on to the nail with no placement needed. Perfect formula!

Slow Invasion: "Cubes of all sizes and colors in a teal jelly base. Inspired by the invasion of the same name."

All photos of Slow Invasion are shown with 3 regular coats topped with 1 coat of NPB Glitter Food  1 coat SH Mega Shine.

This dark teal jelly is to die for! It's such a beautiful color, that on top of it being jam packed full of square glitters!!! *Swoon*  I love the square squishy goodness!

Application with this was exactly the same as wih Hello, Sweetie. Smooth and perfect formula!

Allons-y:  "Teeny tiny glitter in blues, greens, purples, and many more colors.  Inspired by the 10th Doctor."

All photos of Allons-y  are 2 coats on top of Spoiled Show Me Some Skin for undies, except for my ring finger which is 3 coats no undies. All topped with 1 coat NPB Glitter Food and 1 coat SH Mega Shine.

As you can see this can be worn as a sparkly top coat  over pretty much any color or as a stand alone glitter bomb! It almost even has full coverage with 2 coats, almost!

Allons-y has a rather smooth application for a glitter bomb! Keep in mind when layering tiny glitters you need to let each layer dry completely before adding another coat or you will end up with clumping and dragging! Also, as with pretty much all glitter bombs, you need a good thick top coat! NPB Glitter Food is really recommended for a glitter such as this. It works wonders on those glitters that seem so to just eat your standard top coat, making it completely smooth. GF does dry matte so your regular topcoat is recommended to make it shiny again.

A Good Man Goes to War: "Dark times and bloodshed, inspired by the 11th Doctor." A red jelly base with black and silver hexes and squares in different sizes.

All photos of A Good Man Goes to War are 3 coats topped with 1 coat of SH Mega Shine

This red is so bright with 2 coats but 3 make it more opaque. I love the depth it gets with all the different sizes of glitters! Stunning!

Application and formula is consistent with the other jellies in this collection, smooth and perfect. No issues to speak of here!

Oodiful: "Pink and white glitters in a grey jelly base.  Inspired by the Ood."

All photos of Oodiful are 3 coats topped with 1 coat of SH Mega Shine.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I am a sucker for the "crelly" polishes! I don't know why but I want them all!! maybe because they remind me of ice cram and my true fatty is crying out when I see them! Idk, but this was the one I was the most excited about when Allison showed her preview! I love the subtlety of the glitters against the creamy yet squishy base color.

Application, again, is consistent with the rest of the collection. No problems  to report at all.

I do want to let you know I have Google'd pictures of Doctor Who and the names for these polishes to see Allison's inspiration for my self and they all have been very good and pretty spot on in translation but I really felt the need to share the inspiration for this one, especially for those who aren't familiar with Doctor Who, like me. I was laughing at this and I am absolutely amazed at how well she transformed this into the beauty that is on my nails!

The Ood are a fictional alien species with telepathic abilities from the long-running science fiction series Doctor Who. In the series' narrative, they live in the distant future (circa 42nd century).

Bigger On The Inside: "A bold blue jelly with blue and silver microglitter.  Inspired by the Tardis."

All photos of Bigger On The Inside are shown with 2 coats and topped with 1 coat SH Mega Shine.

Looking at this bottle is the perfect example of why, you can not judge a polish by it's bottle. Also this is why Indie makers should, in my opinion, never use a bottle shot as their first picture in the listing. At first glance you would probably say "eh, it's just another blue". But this is such an amazing blue, these pictures are color accurate  so it is that vivid! And that hint of sparkle is very present yet not overwhelming. So Indies take note and buyers remember, it's not always what we think it is!

Again, no problems to report with this. Actually this was one of easiest to work with given it was opaque with 2 coats. Application with every one of these was easy and the formulas are all perfect!

Allison has created a Pre-Order form for this collection here.
They are priced at $9 each and if you order the full set you will get a free full sized bottle of Glitter Food  and free shipping, for US and Canada only. She does a list of other countries she ships to and the pricing, as well, on the order form.

It hasn't been established as of yet if they will be available on Llarowe or when they will be listed on her Etsy shop (here) but if you follow the Nail Pattern Boldness blog (here) and through Facebook (here) you will get all of Allison's latest updates and any sneak peeks to future releases as well!!

I am really impressed with this collection, and Allison's interpretation of the theme! If you aren't aquainted with Doctor Who, Google pictures of the names and you can see How she was inspired! What do you think, are you going to  pre-order or have you already?

(This product was sent to me for review. All opinions are my own and are not influenced by Nail Pattern Boldness in anyway.)

  3. I agree with you about Oodiful and Bigger on the Inside. Those are captivating and unusual polishes. I've not seen anything quite like them.

The others are very pretty, but I'm seriously pining for the other two.

As for grabbing those gems...my wallet is practically empty after scooping up a haul of polishes in recent weeks. I won't be pre-ordering these NPB beauties any time in the next couple of weeks. But after that...if they're still available, I'm jumping on that Dr. Who train!

Speaking of which, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to Dr. Who. Liz, on the other hand...I think it's fair to say she is over the moon obsessed. No doubt, she'll be pre-ordering the whole collection!

Gorgeous swatches, Gini. Your application and camera work is top notch! You have really upped the game here, girl!
