Hi all, I know I'm late posting but at least I'm posing closer to the actual day than I have been! Today's mani was a tough one for me. I had a few ideas and I just wasn't feeling any of them. That on top of the killer headache I haven't been able to shake for about a week now I just said eff it and went with the song that kept popping in to my head all day anyway Mariposa Traicionera (treacherous butterfly) by Mana.
Actually they were inspired by the album art for the single.
I started with 2 coats of Essie Head Mistress and topped that off with 1 coat of SV.
This is a color my hubby picked up for me a few weeks back and I'm really glad he did. It's such a beautiful red and sort of jelly like in it's glossy finish but more opaque than a jelly. I have to say I would not have picked this color up ever. It doesn't look like much in the bottle, but on the nail it looks amazing. I noticed too in low light it looks burgundy and in bright light it looks like a candy apple red!
My attempt started off with intentions to recreate the album art exactly, but after several tries with free hand art on my nubbies I opted for the easier version and just stamped my butterflies.
I used Sally Hansen Golden-I with my fauxnad plate SE-18 to stamp.
It turned out a tad more delicate and girly than I had intended but overall I'm satisfied with it.
Here is the video for the song in case any of you are interested. It is in Spanish, but even if you don't understand it it's a beautiful song even if it is about heart break and pain. I hope you enjoyed the mani and the video.
On another note, I will try to keep up with the challenge posts from now on but I do have to say I have to officially quit the Nail-aween challenge. Sorry to those ladies who are still going strong and have been wondering where my spooky manis are. Things are just so busy, like I said at the beginning of the month I have a lot going on blog wise. I have a new Indie collection to review for you all, I am currently working on swatching for that. As well as a holiday collection, from a pretty well known but still fairly new Indie, that I will be receiving soon to review for you all! So, though I am sad that I can not finish the Nail-aween Challenge, I am super excited to have the opportunity to show you all some really cool new lines!
Thanks for coming by and welcome to all of the new followers I am still getting! Don't forget to click the links at the bottom of the post to see what the other talented ladies have come up with for this day of the challenge, I've seen some of them and they are pretty amazing!
